San Francisco-based Alena Ageeva creates minimalist, textured works that blend childhood memories of snowy Moscow with the deep fog of San Francisco. Working in spackling paste and acrylic, she builds richly tactile surfaces from a limited vocabulary of shapes and colors, refining a small set of materials into quiet, harmonious compositions. Born in Russia, she now lives in San Francisco.
