Max Steven Grossman originally studied engineering and graduated from Philadelphia University. Soon after he discovered his passion in life for photography and went on to graduate from New York University and the International Center of Photography with a Master of Arts specializing in photography. The two diverse studies of engineering and the arts have helped to mold the creative photography of Grossman into a study of reality and imagination. His series “Seascapes” uses a beach background, juxtaposed with another photograph to create a totally different physiological affect on the viewer. Some of his beaches have a semi truck while others may have structures or buildings. Some of the elements, like the semi truck, contain Grossman’s other “Bookscape” photographs integrated into them. The final product is a photograph that makes the viewer believe in something that would naturally be unlikely or impossible to comprehend. It creates a whimsical and unique escape from reality. Grossman was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and currently lives in Miami, Florida.
