Chris Crossen is a painter based in California’s Northern Sierra Nevada. Inspired by landscapes, his work employs elemental forms and experiments with perception, patterns, randomness, and natural processes. Crossen uses various watercolor techniques to abstract a place’s complexity and simplicity and to explore how we see, remember, and attach importance, given constant flux. Crossen’s work ranges from pure abstraction to minimalist landscapes. He received his MFA from University of Notre Dame and an MBA from U.C. Berkeley. His works are included in public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
